For the full details, you can check our full Terms and Conditions anytime.
Who can hire a board?
You’ll need to be over 18 and under 75 to hire equipment. The person hiring is fully responsible for the board and anyone else using it – including children or pets.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Yes – everyone using the equipment should be able to swim at least 50 metres unaided and be comfortable in open water.
Can I share the board with others?
Absolutely – just keep in mind:
- The hirer is responsible for everyone using the board.
- All users must wear life jackets.
- Children under 13 shouldn’t use a board alone, and under 5s aren’t allowed on the boards at all.
Can I take my Dog on the board with me?
Yes, dogs are welcome to join you – just make sure they’re comfortable with water and steady on their paws. As the hirer, you’re responsible for your pet’s safety and for any damage caused by them to the board or other equipment.
Are lifeguards watching me?
Only on the main lifeguard beach during peak times. Otherwise, you’ll need to be confident in your ability to stay safe in the water.
What happens in bad weather?
If we need to cancel due to poor weather or sea conditions, you’ll get a full refund. We won’t send anyone out if it’s not safe.
Do I need to sign anything?
Yes – there’s a waiver form signed on the day which makes you fully responsible for the equipment and anyone using it.
What happens if I damage the gear?
The hirer is liable for any damage, including boards, paddles, life vests or leashes. Fixed replacement costs are listed on the waiver form.
What if I’m late returning the board?
A £15 per board, per hour charge applies for late returns – it helps us stay on schedule for the next paddlers.
Can I paddle if I’ve had a drink?
No – alcohol or drug use isn’t allowed while using the equipment. We also reserve the right to refuse hire if we feel you’re not in a fit state to paddle.
